He grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to a wide variety of musical genres from an early age. He began studying classical guitar at the age of seven at the School of Musical Arts of the University of Costa Rica, under the guidance of Mario Solera. He later continued his studies with Ramonet Rodríguez, Judith de la Asunción, Patricia Corrales, Randall Dormond, Jorge Luis Zamora, and Andrés Saborío.
He has participated in masterclasses with Eduardo Martín, Pepe Romero, Juan Carlos Laguna, Pavel Steidl, Ricardo Gallén, Costas Cotsiolis, Eliot Fisk, Gohar Vardanyan, and Matt Palmer.
In 2007, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Music, and in 2010, he graduated with honors, earning a Licentiate degree in Music with an emphasis on Guitar from the University of Costa Rica.
He was awarded second place in the “1st Central American Guitar Competition,” held in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, in 2007, and third place in the “2nd National Guitar Competition,” held in Costa Rica in 2008.
In 2026, he released his album Contemplación, featuring works by Bach, Barrios, and Solís—an intimate musical journey that invites the listener into a space of stillness, reflection, and quiet resonance.
